From our easy-to-find location on East Chapman Avenue, we provide preventative and general dentistry services for patients coming from all over Orange County. From the youngest to the oldest, we are very pleased to be able to help our patients preserve the health of their teeth and prevent tooth loss.
Here are the preventative and general dentistry treatments available from Dr. Dao Kim Pham-Nguyen:
Dental Exams and X-Rays
This is where protection of the long-term health of your teeth starts. By seeing Dr. Pham-Nguyen for regular examinations, any cavities, cracked or fractured teeth, worn-down teeth or gum inflammation can be identified early. Dr. Pham-Nguyen’s extensive dental training and experience enable her to correct any of these problems quickly, preventing them from getting any worse. Dr. Pham-Nguyen offers her patients digital x-rays during these examinations so patients are exposed to a minimum of radiation. At the same time, digital x-ray images are sharp and detailed so hidden health conditions can easily be detected.
Dental Cleanings and Oral Hygiene
Even for a person with an excellent at-home hygiene program, regular dental hygiene appointments are essential. Our hygienist will clean every trace of plaque and tartar from your teeth, even the hard-to-reach areas. Because accumulated tartar accelerates decay, keeping your teeth sparkling and smooth is a vital part of preventing the need for fillings or root canal therapy.
Gum Disease Care
Even if you have no cavities, advanced gum disease could cause you to lose some or all of your teeth. If we see early signs of gum disease, we will advise you on how you can improve your at-home hygiene routine to reverse it. If we see that gum disease has advanced beyond this point, we offer gum disease treatment to bring your gums back to health. The first treatment recommended is normally scaling and root planing, which means that we will clean out tartar and bacterial toxins from below the gumline, all the way to the bottom of any pocket that exists between your teeth and gums. We will then smooth the roots of your teeth (planing) to help these roots attach more firmly to your gums.
Pediatric Dental Care
We love to help the children in our community learn to keep their teeth clean and healthy. We know that having good experiences with a dentist at a young age can help them become comfortable in a dentist’s chair. That way, they learn healthy habits that can last them for their whole lives.
Fluoride
For our younger patients or any patient who might be particularly prone to tooth decay, we often recommend in-office fluoride treatments. This treatment has proven to harden teeth and result in fewer cavities.
